Q:
Why can’t we send our e-mail out using the Internet Fax option?
A:
The Internet Fax
capability of those type of machines refers to the ability to send
and receive faxes via email, and forward those faxes to a
different email address. An Internet Fax machine is not an Email
Server.
For proper operation, Internet Fax machines
require a connection to a computer network, a properly working
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) or static
(non-changing) Internet Protocol (IP) address, a valid e-mail
address on your network, access to the Internet via network or
dial-up, and finally, all of the user preferences to be set
defining the machine to the network.
If any one of the items listed above is not
properly configured, the Internet Fax may not work the way you
expect it to.
